“DJ Groovin’ Mike” Harrell got his start in the Event Entertainment industry as an Assistant DJ/Videographer for All-Tune DJ based in Felton, Delaware. Mike quickly learned how to operate the DJ equipment, and displayed excellent Emcee skills, so he soon began performing on his own as a Lead DJ for the company. When the company owner decided to relocate to Florida, Mike took over the company, brought on additional talent, and expanded the footprint of the company. However, as the company continued to gain more clientele and grow, Mike started to take on more administrative activities, and performed less. He decided to scale back the operation, and became more focused on performance. Aside from taking on mobile events, Mike became the “House DJ” for a restaurant/night club called WT Smithers in Dover, DE in 2008, and performed there until 2015 .
In 2010, Mike also became the “House DJ” for Salero, an elegant rooftop venue in Rehoboth Beach, DE, and performed hundreds of weddings and private events. Mike served in this role until 2016, when he took a brief hiatus from mobile entertainment to pursue other interests. He kept performing mobile events periodically over the next few years - then world events in 2020 brought the event entertainment industry to a screeching halt. Mike relocated from Delaware to Maryland during this time, and was fortunate to connect with DJ Juice Lee. Mike is very happy to be a part of the Bar Crawler Entertainment team!
